Emmalee, Tyler
& Bear

We got Bear from the shelter with no background on his upbringing. Bear was a shell of a dog, no interest in toys, car rides, tug-war and was very stand-offish and anxious around other dogs. The sight of another dog at any distance would lead to full hackles down his back and a rigid tail. During training Skylar was patient with Bear’s lack of wanting to opt in, and quickly became one of Bears favorite people with her positive reinforcement training style. After just 2 training sessions Bear started to show immediate improvements. She answered every question I had and supplied us with the best tools to help Bear improve and work on his skills between sessions.

Bear is now able to disengage almost immediately when faced with a trigger - even when face to face with another dog. He is able to comfortably relax around some dogs - occasionally even playing with one! He is VERY comfortable at home and loves sticking his head out of the window during car rides. As well as initiating play and playing with his toys by himself! Working with Skylar built his confidence in himself and he would not have come out of his shell nearly as much without her help and guidance!

Mallory & Emma

Emma started her training journey with Skylar in 2021 as an energetic puppy, beginning with basic puppy skills and obedience before continuing through intermediate and advanced obedience classes. Those early experiences provided a strong foundation and helped us build trust, communication, and teamwork.

As Emma matured, new challenges emerged. She became increasingly fearful of change and unfamiliar environments. Everyday things like cars driving by, shiny floors, narrow hallways, and places where she didn't feel she had a clear escape route became overwhelming.

With Skylar's guidance, training became about more than obedience. It became about understanding Emma as an individual and helping her build confidence at a pace that felt safe for her. Over time, Emma learned to navigate unfamiliar situations more successfully, and we learned how to better understand her body language, communicate more clearly, and support her through challenging moments.
Emma's journey is still ongoing, but the progress she's made has been incredible. Training has strengthened our bond, given us the confidence to face new situations together, and helped Emma become a happier, more resilient dog. We are so grateful to Skylar for being part of that journey.
